What are your objectives for European cooperation?

It can turn out from the features of the area and the background of the parents that we have so many pupils who are at a disadvantage and we consider it to be of great importance that they should not belong to lower classes of the society and they should not face the social exclusion. One of the most important values in the EU is the question of equal chances and we would like to help our pupils in this spirit to improve themselves, come abreast and join the world of work with a good chance. We want to inform our partners about our experiences and get information about the effective methods at their schools for the pupils to get the same rights and possibilities as all the other citizens of the EU.

We are situated in Debrecen (in the eastern part of Hungary). Debrecen is the second biggest town in Hungary with 200 thousand people.

There are 35 teachers at our school and 400 pupils. We have 17 classes on 8 levels. (We have 3 school leaver classes). Our students learn English or German from the 2nd class as their first foreign language. We have a study circle and a few of the pupils can learn Finnish.

We have a computer classroom and a language lab. Students learn Biology and Chemistry from the 7th grade. They have lessons like: Hungarian grammar and literature, English/German, History, Geography, PE, Music, Art, Media, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and 1 lesson every week which they spend with their form teacher. They can discuss problems of the class or speak about topics which they are interested in.
